Control 2 computers from 1 keyboard/mouse on 1 computer with VNC
This is a setup I have running at home using Win2VNC and TightVNC to control both my computers from my laptop. And the only thing my laptop has to be connected to is my wireless router for it to work. And of course, my PC which is being controlled is connected to my router via wired Ethernet... I know there are other types of software that let you do this, and I've tried a few. But this method is by far the easiest to set up and requires almost no configuration. I really like this setup, and I've had many people ask me about it, so I thought I would share with everyone so that you can have something like this at home. If I'm in another room and can't see my computer, I can use the TightVNC Viewer so that I can actually see my PC's screen in a window as I control it. But my laptop is usually within view of my TV, so I just use Win2VNC... Programs used for this: On the computer to be controlled - Install a VNC SERVER, I recommend TightVNC (Free) On the computer to be the controller - Install Win2VNC (Also free) Both of these programs are free and are not trial versions or limited versions... In this video, my PC is running on Windows 7 Ultimate, and my laptop is running Windows Vista Ultimate. All the instructions are pretty much in the video, other that the installation of the software, which is pretty straightforward.
